Language, level & background:
Introductory Spanish students (level 1B) will use the information in the wiki to create a travel brochure for Guatemala using the verb "ir" to discuss where people go and what they are going to do. Additionally, this assignment will prepare students for a more in-depth project in which students work in small groups to learn about different countries of Central America later in the year.

Activities
1. Introduce the wiki to students. Demonstrate how to edit and save information.
2. Research information about Guatemala as a class. Fill in the first section of the class' page on Guatemala.
3. Divide class into small groups, have each group research one of the listed areas.
4. Review the information as a class, pointing out places to visit and things to do in Guatemala and editing as necessary. Have students identify these places on their maps of Guatemala. Use this information throughout this unit of study.
5. Review use wiki, ensure that students are prepared to use the wiki independently for their upcoming group research project.
6. Have students begin work on summative presentational task, ¡Vamos a Guatemala!.
